Introducing Blink Fleet Management

Posted 07/20/2023

Today’s fleets need more than just vehicles. Not only will the new electric fleets need depot EV charging stations, but they need new telematics that include and manage charging. With the Blink Network, it’s easy to manage your organization’s workplace, public, and fleet EV chargers from a single portal. Here’s what you need to know about Blink Fleet Management.

View environmental reports

Many organizations are now including sustainability in their annual reports. The Blink Network provides summaries of CO2 reductions, barrels of oil saved, gallons of fuel saved, and millions of fuel dollars saved per year. Now it’s easier to justify your investment, compare operational cost savings between EV and ICE vehicles, and support your corporate sustainability program.

Manage your vehicles

The larger your fleet, the more data you need. With the Blink Fleet Management portal, you can add the vehicle name, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), make, model, year, and kWh efficiency. Depending on the size of your fleet, your organization may have fleet vehicles already grouped by location. Once you’ve added vehicles to your fleet on the Blink Network, you can group stations and vehicles at each fleet depot. Assign your vehicles to a station grouping at your location for easy management and tracking.

Manage energy usage & schedules

While local load management can help your location share power between chargers, Blink fleet management offers another energy-saving feature for fleets. Now you can schedule charging for off-peak hours. This feature benefits fleets with set schedules such as for ZEV school buses or service shuttles. You can schedule plug-in and plug-out times on a charger group, then schedule energy flow for overnight charging. You can also add minimum, maximum, and target energy levels for your chargers. What does this mean? Fleet operators can electrify their vehicles while minimizing costs. Whether you want to save by sharing power between stations, joining your utility’s demand response program, or schedule charging for 10pm, the energy management feature makes it easy.

Get notified

In addition to the typical Blink Network admin and delegate roles, Blink Fleet Management also adds a delegate “in charge” for fleet managers. These contacts can receive notifications for:

  • Early plug-out

  • Late plug-in

  • Plug-out below minimum energy level

With Blink, managing your fleet means upgrading your capabilities. Whether you’re scheduling charging at a Blink Series 7 dual Level 2 charger or reporting energy usage at a Blink Series 9 30kW DCFC, you can get the management controls you need to optimize your fleet. Better yet? Because Blink Fleet Management integrates with the Blink Network, station hosts get a comprehensive view of all chargers on-site. Ready to get started with charging your EV fleet?
